This is an exchange 2000 server. Large deployment, 100 different locations. Having exchange issues at a location just deployed:
Recurring event: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeFBPublish Event Category: General Event ID: 8197 Date: 2/24/2005 Time: 11:48:30 AM User: N/A Computer: servername Description: Error initializing session for virtual machine servername. The error number is 0x8004011d. Make sure Microsoft Exchange Store is running. For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
- What we've done/checked: All Exchange services are running All Mailbox Stores are mounted All Exchange database file permissions are correct Service Pack 3 installed correctly DNS Settings correct (sites RSDC primary, hubs RSDC secondary) Ran a Directory Service Access Flush Subnet configured correctly in Sites and Services
Outlook Problems - possibly related to above??
When a user logs in within the office: Outlook prompts for username, password, domain. Often, the domain administrator account is already displayed in the username space. If a user cancels past this screen, it will let them into their mailbox. OWA works without problems
When a user from the problem EX server logs in at another office location on a different subnet: When running outlook, Error message: Microsoft Exchange Server Unavailable. Can ping the exchange server by name and IP without problems. OWA works fine.
**(thought it may be a scriptlogic problem - creating the outlook profile for the user, but that is configured correctly. Get the same error when manually setting up the profile.)
Thanks!

1. Exchange 2000 SP3 is not able to mount a compressed store. Make sure the stores are not on a compressed drive.
2. A missing Schedule+ Free/Busy System Folder could cause this error. To correct this see Q284200.
3. Error: 0x8004011d - See Q266312, Q282964, Q821889 and Q822579.
4. - Error 0x8004011d - On an Exchange 2003 server, I received this message with Information Store running and both private and public stores mounted. I eliminated the error by stopping Exchange System Attendant and its dependent services, then restarting SA and each dependency individually. MS Exchange Free Busy Publish then initialized properly.
5. Check the disk space remaining of the drive volumes where the exchange logs and/or Mailbox stores are located. If you are running out of disk space, free some by deleting or moving some old log files. When done, mount the information store in the exchange system manager.
