can i install the management console only on an XP machine?
i cant figure out how to make this work!

Yes this is supported (even the 32-bit version of the management tools will be supported in production, when RTM is here!).

What have you done so far and what error messages are you getting?

its just not even an option.

when i put the 32bit beta cd in an xp machine, it tells me something like "exchange can only be installed on server 2003"....

??
