Ok in an Nutshell my company descided to not have us spend the time to do the move from Exchagne 5.5 to 2000, 3 weeks ago we migrated to windows 2000 and that went well, Still running exch 5.5. now they went and installed exchange 2000 in to a Different Site on the network and ran the migration utility and now for some reason outlook can not find names in the new Exchange 2000 server.. I have tested that pop3 works fine with the addresses that are there, and SMTP But if I telnet to exchange I cant send a messsage that way give me a invalid address.
Domain is in mixed mode, Exchange is in mixed mode and dont think the ADC was installed on the exchange 5.5 server.
Any ideas? I was not here and trying to figure out what is going wrong. no errors in Event viewer either. I have done a few inplace upgrades and had no problems but never tried this before. any help or suggestions would be great thank you.

I think you need to install ADC so that your NT4 domain accounts are replicated to GC. Once accounts are replicated to GC, your outlook client should be able to view Global address book.

I'm having the same problem. I'm running NT4 DOMAIN. My exchange 5.5 is running on windows 2000 server which is trusted with NT4. Now i'm putting up new server which will be running Win2K and Exchange 2k. I want to migrate my mailboxes from exchange 5.5.
As i gone thru the reply, i can't make out what is GC?
If some1 help..

If i'm not mistaken GC stands for Global Catalog, which is used in active directory.
