Hi all,

I'm trying to use an MSX 2000 Server as a gateway between X.400 and SMTP. While I was able to connect from the MSX Server to an X.400 MTA as well as from the MSX Server to the Sendmail relay, I've found no possibility so far to route messages through from X.400 to SMTP or vice versa. It works only for "mail-enabled" users where addresses are explicitly written down (something similar to the custom recipients of Exchange 5.5), but these would have to ve created manually.
I'm thinking of an algorithmic address conversion between the two worlds. From the (older Unix-based) gateways I learned that these handle an X.400 encapsuled E-Mail address in the DDAs of the X.400 address, and the address of the X.400 user was just a normal domain user.

So the question is: Does MSX 2000 offer an opportunity to convert E-Mail addresses into X.400 address schema via an algorithm ?

Any hints or links are highly appreciated,
a helpful hint would make my day ;-)

Cheers and bye from
Stephan
