Hello experts,

We have managed to get ourselves in an interesting bind here. Our server has about 600MB of diskspace left and we need to migrate to our new Exchange 2003 box. Everything is setup and ready to go except for the public and private database files. Each of these files are about 10gb and we would like to get these files over to the new server with minimal downtime.

The problem we are having is that because the system is in a virtual environment we cannot run NTBACKUP. Do you have any suggestions on what could be used to do a backup of the "live" Exchange database without having to dismount? If we could do this we could let the backup run while the server is functional and minimize the downtime.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
Zach

Why are you not doing move mailboxes to do this migration? That would be usual. You can't forklift a database from one server (easily, anyway!)  to another.

I have used Ahsay on my Windows and must say that it has come up to my expectations. It provided backup to Windows, relieving me from the fear of losing potential data due to any undue circumstances. I would recommend Ahsay to all those looking up for better backup plans for their information and data.
