Hello All,
I am new in this forum but got lots of solutions from this forum earlier searching on net. I need your help to deploy a little complex environment. I want to deploy exchange server 2007 where DC and DR sites are available. DC and DR is connected with high speed fiber where latency is very low. I have 2 High end servers (32GB RAM, 3TB Storage, Dell power edge R9000), two low end servers (300GB storage) and there are 1 AD and 3 ADCs in DC and one ADC in DR. I have purchased 1 license for Exchange server 2007 Ent. and 2 Exchange Server 2007 Std versions. I have one server with ISA server 2006 also. I need to have the environment with fail over replication (SCR/CCR or something else). Please suggest me the design and your valuable suggestions. Thanks.

Regards,
Shams

The only difference between Standard and Enterprise version of Exchange is CCR and limitation of Storage Groups.

I would put the Enterprise on your primary site as mailbox server role and then have 1 of the standard running as CAS/HT. Then on the DR site, I would put the other Standard Exchange server with CAS/HT/mailbox server role.

Run SCR between primary mailbox server and DR mailbox server. This will allow you to have a DR situation if the primary site goes down i.e. CAS/HT server have hardware issue then all incoming emails will go through the DR CAS/HT/mailbox server and this will be the same as the mailbox server on your primary site.

As for SCR, it will be a manual failover so check out the post on this site.
