I want to set up two Exchange 2K7 servers for disaster recovery. 1 Front End (CAS role only) and 1 Back End (HT, MBX) in one AD site and same setup in the other.

Can I have two HT servers installed in the same domain, different AD sites? I would like the mail sent/recieve to go out site1 HT server and site 2's mail to go out their local HT server, instead of pointing to site1's HT. How would that be configured?

There is more reading that has to be done.
You HAVE to have an HT in each AD site that you have mailbox servers.

Thanks for the quick response. That is right CAS, HT roles for each AD site with mailbox role. I read that wanted to confirm and wanted to know how to configure it.

Instead of HT roles, how about you deploy 2 Edge Transport roles. One for Live Production and the other for redundancy, then you can deploy a regular exchange server as a back end failover either clustered or CCR. So that once one fails you can use the other immediately. Here is an article to check out.

I would like to set up two Exchange 07 using Standby continuous replication (SCR). I want to replicate multiple storage groups from one Mailbox server to another Mailbox server. The Mailbox servers are not clustered and both are acting as SCR sources and targets. Each server is located in a different data center and a different Active Directory site.
