Hello everybody.  New to this forum.  I've posted this question at two other forums, so I apologize if you have read this already.  Hoping somebody here can help me out with this issue, as it is driving me crazy!

Here's the situation:  Exchange 2007, fresh implementation.  No other or older versions of Exchange are running in this enviornment.  I have one user that as soon as they receive an email, it will delete/disappear from the Inbox.  This happens in both Outlook 2007 and OWA.  Even on different machines.  There are NO rules set up in Outlook or OWA.  I tried deleting the user profile and .ost file.  Still happens.  I used MfcMapi and did a hard delete of the default rules.  Still happens.  One of the odd things is that using MfcMapi, when I right click on the Inbox and click on "Open Deleted Contents Table", I can see the missing/deleted emails.

If I disable the POP3 mailbox feature on this mailbox on the Exchange server, then email stays in the Inbox like it should.  Knowing that it's narrowed down to the POP3 feature on this one certain mailbox, does anybody know of a way to correct this?

Try enabling this pop feature for some other user and check if it causes the same havoc. Also, if this takes place it means we are able to re-produce the scenario.

So, no point troubleshooting at user end if we can re-produce this for multiple users - it has to be at server end.

Thanks for your response Exchange Geek!  I appreciate it.  I just got this issue resolved a few minutes ago.  What helped a lot was enabling logging for POP3 on the Exchange server.  When I did that, I was able to see that this user kept logging in every minute---even when the machine was turned off!  Well, this happens to be a test user account.  We have a Barracuda Spam firewall appliance I was configuring last week, and entered this test user's credentials into the Barracuda's POP/IMAP section (for testing purposes).  It was the Barracuda that kept logging this test user in and wreaking all this havoc.  I removed this from Barracuda (no point in having it in there anyway, I was just testing something) and everything is working fine now!  Thanks!

Thanks.  Although, I can't take credit for it all!  A person from technet forums suggested I enabled the logging.  Once I did that, then it was just trying to figure out why this user was being logged in every minute.  But the logging was key!
