Is there any difference in installing or running Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008 than on 2003?

Yes. Among other things you are required to run IPv6 (and have it properly configured). I learned this the hard way on my first Win2k8/Exch2k7 install.

Where is this documented?

I'm planning on installing Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2008 box, and after reading many articles on Technet, I don't recall reading anything about IPv6.

Thanks,
Mike

Apologizes, but i dont agree with enabling IPv6 - since thats enabled by default. Infact, there were numerous instances I have personally seen where we had to disable IPv6 for succesful installation of Exchange 2007. Again, opinions differ on this part - however i just wanted to place forth my exp with IPv6 and E2k7 installation.

x2, I have several Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008 - standalone and clusters without IPv6 enabled.  There is even an article series on this site that documents it.  http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/high-availability-recovery/deploying-exchange-2007-sp1-ccr-cluster-windows-server-2008-failover-cluster-part1.html

Installed and Enabled by Default In Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, IPv6 is installed and enabled by default as the Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) component from the properties of a connection in the Connections and Adapters folder. In Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, many operating system components now support IPv6.

The same article you referred quotes the following.

When installing Windows Server 2008, Ipv6 is enabled by default.

That would be correct... but it also mentions and documents disabling it......which is what the 2nd poster said was required.....
