I downloaded the Beta and will install in a few hours. In the meantime : what are the new features in this edition ?
I can't find a whole lot of information on what's new.

So Henrik , If you have been toying with it for a year ... How will this impress us

Good question and I don’t know where to start from, the Exchange 2010 is going to be the **Best** version in my opinion,
if you do take a look what it will bring on a table impossible not to go for it

Status: offline 		You can start installing and playing with this new version using Hyper-V. Coz you dont have to worry about the base machine. Not that many changes in HUB and CAS. Mailbox role is modified and LCR and SCC is gone forever. Some good failover functionality in terms of database portability.

I m playing with it. Lets see how good it is in terms of managing it.

Status: offline 		Personally I´m looking forward to the effects of RPC Client Access Layer forcing all clients through CAS.

And DAG (Database Availsbility Group) also seems really interesting.

Status: offline 		Yes DAG is a great addition to the Exchange product. Almost no clustering functionality required and everything is now managed via the EMC/EMS. No more messing around with the WFC console, cluadmin.exe or cluster.exe.

And up to 16 copies of a database!

SCR and CCR combines in perfect harmony.

Status: offline 		I am loving 2010 so far, the best version no question in my eyes and very much excited about it.

The changes in database tables, the new structure or DB, makes it more efficient ***Faster*** and goodbye SIS (- : ,goodbye SG (storage groups), another 70 percent reduction introduced in Exchange 2010,( maybe even more) on top of improvement have been introduced in exchange 2007, JBOD .....

Status: offline 		OWA has changed a little bit with favorites.

Move mailbox has improved.
Export & Import mailbox feature is now gui based with plenty of features. But still it requires 32 bit machine.

Not sure whether they have removed this feature.

There was  a discussion that PF database that it will go from E2K7. But it stayed there.

PF database is back in action in 2010. Not good

Now to introduce E14 in an existing ORG. E12 with SP2 is mandatory. So no options availlable for E12 with SP1 customer.

Status: offline 		Recovery Storage Groups (RSGs) are now referred to as Recovery Databases (RDBs) since we no longer have the concept of storage groups in Exchange 2010.

You can use the following command to get you a RDB:


New-MailboxDatabase -Recovery <dbname> –Server <servername>

Status: offline 		Sounds like Microsoft’s continued engineering is aimed towards eliminating 3rd party products.  If this 2010 total package is for real, we could possibly sunset 4 add-ons.

Status: offline 		And for people who spend lot of time in digging potential false positive junk mails everyday,,, you are going to love Exchange 2010.
Anti-spam technology in 2010 is at its best with Forefront security,

Can u believe, testing showed 99% spam detection rate. The good part here is rating to be either 1 or 9. Hope Jumk mail Folder is taken off in the upcoming version
