Hello

I have following issue. In an infrastructure we had an Exchange 2010 database crash. the last full backup is 4 days old. because there was no way to repair the database i restored the 4 day old backup. so far so good...but is there a way that i can restore the missing 4 days of mailbox items? i have all the log files but no valid edb file. is there a way to set up a new database without the edb file? i don't want to touch the current database..maybe it is possible with the use of the recovery database?

thanks for any hints

Try updated version of Exchange Recovery Software for exporting mailboxes database from EDB file to Outlook PST file format. This application is complete solution for retrieving data from offline, dismounted or corrupted EDB file and restores it into PST or Live Exchange server EDB file format.

Download free demo version of this tool:- http://bit.ly/1Nvcrzh

Are your current log files corrupted? If not, you have the following option available to you:

1. Restore edb file to 'original' location
2. Open cmd and cd to the edb directory
3. Run: eseutil /mh 'database name.edb'

If eseutil reports that the database is in a clean state (Not dirty) then you can use the current log files to update the database to the state it was in before corruption (as far as the logs go)

If you dont care about the mail from the backup until the corruption, then you can tell Exchange to allow file restore on the database, move the current log files, and then mount the database.

Or:
Exchange Server Repair Kit is an absolute must-have for any software development professional working with MS SQL databases.

I have good data recovery experience with this Exchange databases (EDB) recovery tool: http://bit.do/cbrm7

We successfully recovered and restored two EDB files of around 500 GB size.

Before trying any tools, I would like to suggest you can go to try manual processing:

Dismount Database --> Open Power shell console, navigate to the folder EDB files database with logs damaged.
Run ESEUTIL /mh “Path of the database” - Check Exchange Database State status
Run Eseutil /P “Path of the database” - Repair Database
Run Eseutil /ml “Path of the database” - check log file health
Run Eseutil /D “Path of the database” - De-fragment database
Delete Logs referent database Damaged --> Mount Database
