Hi,

I'm used to setting up email envelope journalling with Exchange 2003. Back in those days I'd create a new mailbox store, create a user and set-up journalling for the new mailbox store. Which would forward all email to our email archiving system.

Question;
1 (the easy question): With Exchange 2010, do I have to have Exchange 2010 Enterprise in order to create a second mailbox store?

2) Do I even need to create a new mailbox store any more?

You don't need the Enterprise version of your Exchange but you will need Enterprise CALs. Look on the site: http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/en-us/licensing-exchange-server-email.aspx#Exchange2010CAL for the feature-set you need between the CALs.

And I'd put the journal onto a different store.
