Hi All,
on my exchange test environment of exchange 2010 I created 4 node DAG group,
unfortunately 3 nodes failed to reboot becasue of some other issues. So I installed 3 nodes with new exchaneg server names.
after a successful installation, I deleted all old 3nodes from AD (using adsedit)
from there on launch of management console I am getting popup saying that"the active server for database "mbdatabase name" could not be found.
it was running command "get-mailboxdatabase -status"
issue is I am not able to view existing valid databases in "database management"
while crerating new mailbox also, databses discover wizard is also not able to find any database.
I am able to create new database and through command shell @ default location I am able to create new mailbox.
Please help me in get rid of this issue.

Thanks in advance.

What was the reason that you deleted the old nodes from ADSIEdit?? Please understand that ADSIEdit is quite a powerful tool and should be used as little as possible!!

Did you properly remove the mailbox database copies from the old nodes?
Did you properly remove the servers from the DAG?
Did you manage to uninstall Exchange from those servers?

I am trying to understand your reasoning for just diving into ADSIEdit and deleting these objects without attempting the proper method. Where did you delete the nodes from in ADSIEdit??

Hi thanks for your quick response

the OS got corrupted, Nodes are failed to come up, this reason forced me to remove it from the ADSIedit.

I didn't get a chance to proper removal of DAG / mailbox database copies.

I deleted servers from
CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=idclab,DC=loc

from this server location I deleted 3 nodes.

and I deleted databases from following locations.
CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=idclab,DC=loc

I think these details will help you in hel me out.

Looking into the Exchange Management Console\Organization configuration\Mailbox, Do you see the 3 failed nodes as having database copies of the mailbox databases? Do you still see any references of these failed servers in the console (especially in anything to do with DAG)?
