I am finalizing our migration to Exchange 2000 from 5.5. Currently all of our external mail goes through our Exchange 5.5 server and Proxy 2.0 server. Microsoft has several Technet articles about setting up both Exchange 5.5 and 2000 behind a Proxy 2.0 server, but very little on setting up behind an ISA server.
I know that you have to use the Secure Mail Server wizard on ISA, but can't find anything on what needs to be done to the Exchange 2000 server (if anything).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm just starting to play with ISA myself, but check out this article on MS site - it may help. Q308599. Good luck and let me know if you hit any crazy snags... thanks.

Nate,
After more searching I have found this article from isaserver.org:
http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/tutorials/publishing_a_mail_Server_with_isa_server.htm
That seems to answer most of the questions on publishing an SMTP server.
BTW, the Technet article you reference is for publishing your Outlook Web Access site on ISA. I have already sucessfully done this and it is pretty painless. That article and the other one it references should be all you need to get OWA working.
Thanks,

another good MS source is http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver/techinfo/deployment/ISAnExch.doc
there really isnt much to do about configuring e2k behind ISA. all the configuration is done on the ISA server.
also, E2k and MS Proxy 2.0 is a big no no! dont do it. it wont work! MS says in order to run e2k behind MS Proxy 2.0 the course of action needed to make this work is, upgrade to ISA server! i swear thats what they say.
