Hi I am looking at doing an active/passive site resilient setup.

Headquarters our Exchange environment is such:
• Exchangefe1  CAS, HUB Roles
• Exchangemail  Database
• ExchangeUM  Unified Messaging

The name space internally for the server is mail.lwginc.com and externally is mail.lwgconsulting.com, so we couldn’t use split DNS.

DR Site
• ExchangeColUM  Unified Messaging, CAS, HUB
• ExchangecolMail  Database

Since we aren’t using split DNS I am not sure the exact configuration of all of the DNS records and certificates that need to occur. Secondly, do we need to create a CAS array even if we only have 1 CAS server per site? Does the CAS array span multiple sites?

Any recommendations on implementing this without impacting the current environment?
Also will we need to use a hardware loadbalancer?

I have been reading these articles but it’s not exactly our scenario and the steps are very detailed so I would hate to screw up our Exchange environment.
