Hi,

After a misconfiguration of our firewall we were openly relaying mail. This has now been resolved, however the log files for that period are 1.5gb and 2gb respectively.

Do I need to keep these files or can they be deleted? They would have been captured in our routine backup, however this is a ten day redundancy cycle so I don't want to find that after this period we need them! I can of course put them on a disc or something, but don't want to store something thats not needed.

Adam

hi mate,

As per GPO it is good to keep it, at the same time i would say that take a full online backup of your database and then you can move those log files or delete them later (Note : if is very old log files, because after disaster or new database generate the log file will be having old signature)
