There is a problem with Windows SBS2000 and Microsoft Exchange, which I want to solve with either a software upgrade or Outlook Plug-In.

Shared Contacts is a public folder which I created in Exchange. All employees in my "[Eek!]" office have access to it through Outlook with different permission levels, so everything is working in that regard. Outlook (by default) creates a "personal" Contacts folder in each computer. The problem is that PDAs using ActiveSync are designed to sync only with the "personal" Contacts folder on an individual computer and not a public folder residing on the server.

I found a Microsoft download call Outlook PCS that sort of fixes this problem by (a click of a button) copying the contents of a public folder to the "personal" contacts on an individual computer. The problem is that this is a one way synchronization. If I enter a new contact in my PDA, I can't easily transfer it to the server. A secondary problem users sometime get confused between the Shared Contacts in Exchange and "personal" contacts in Outlook and end up entering information in the "personal" contacts in Outlook, which never makes its way to the server for others to access. The confusion comes about because the "personal" contacts is a duplication of the Shared Contacts as a result of using Outlook PCS plug-in.

Any suggestions?
