Dear all,

I have a windows 2000 AD and 5.5 Exchange earlier. Now Exchange 5.5 we are not using (it is taken as offline and not available). Now when I try to install Exchange 2003 in this AD; the exchange installation is not happenning. Can anybody suggest a way to come out of this issue?

Dear all,

To further explain:- to bring the error:-

I tried to install Exchange 2003 in my existing additional domain controller
(Windows 2000 - SP4).

I got the following error when I ran DC diag.

When I ran the setup of Exchange 2003 :-

When I try to prepare forest prep in the Action menu of exchange
installation:-

The component "Microsoft Exchange Forest Preparation" cannot be assigned the
action "ForestPrep" because: - To install the first Exchange server in a
domain, or to run setup in "/ForestPrep" mode, you must be an Exchange Full
administrator a the organisation level. You must use an account that has been
granted the Full Exchange Administrator role on the Exchange organization
using the Exchange Administrative Delegation Wizard.

This is the error; how to go about now.

Sounds like a DNS issue where the server is register on one DNS server and not the other. Run IPConfig /all to see which DNS servers it resolves to. What DNS servers do you have? Are they Windows 2000/3 servers? Are you using AD Integrated DNS or Primary / Seconday DNS servers?
