When running Export-Mailbox and Import-Mailbox against my E2k7 SP1 Server from my WinXP workstation with E2k7 SP1 x32 Management tools installed correctly, I receive an error that puzzles me.
"Export-Mailbox : Database 'MAILSERVER\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' is offline."
How would you suggest I resolve this problem? What am I overlooking or not addressing? I am logged in as the Exchange Administrator and have created the necessary pemissions on the mailboxes as far as I can tell.
Warm Regards, Jim

Not so silly, I checked and the database is indeed mounted. There are no errors in the application log on the PC running the tools/console I am performing the operation from. Thanks for your help.

I am having this same issue. I am trying to export a users mailbox and it reports that the Mailbox Database is offline. I checked and it shows up as being online. Export-Mailbox : Database 'MAILSERVER\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' is offline." No errors in the application log. What is the exbpa tool?
I found and ran the exbpa tool. It returned 2 errors:
Exchange Store does not start:
'The 'Services' string type value located in 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Setup\Services' registry key is missing or inaccessible. The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service will not start. As a result, all services that depend on this service will not be able to start. 2. Paging file larger than Physical Memory
I checked and everything in that KB is correct. The string exists and SYSTEM has full control over it.
