Failed to Mout database

Hello,

Im in serious trouble i cannot mout de mais database in my exchange 2007. this is the error:

Failed to mount database 'Mailbox Database'.

Mailbox Database
Failed
Error:
Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified. Specified database: EXCHANGESRV\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database; Error code: MapiExceptionNotFound: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-1305)
i look at the event viwer and there this errors:

Event ID 4001 anda 9518 anda 9519.

Can anyone help me?

i run all sugestions in the forum but i cannot moutn the database. I dont have backups

The path to the db does it exist?

I've been in this situation before but only in my lab, without backups you may be in a bit of a sticky situation. If you check out the post by Ellinor on this message you can probably get your database to a working state again but potentially could lose data.

If this is production, you should definately think about backing up those databases if you haven't already in the future.

To sum up the post, use eseutil to repair your database but you will potentially lose data as specified in the notes in the post and when you run the utility. I have had to restart my servers on occasion before starting this process and again I did this in a lab where losing data was of no consequence so you may want to look into a Third-Party tool if this is a production server.

1. eseutil /r dbname
2. eseutil /mh dbname
3. eseutil /p dbname
4. eseutil /d dbname
5. isinteg -s "servername" -test alltests

Move all the files except .edb file to other location and mount the database.
Post the update.

I hope database is in clean shutdown!

U may have to use ESEUTIL.exe to defragor clean a DB

Although ESEUTIL.exe utility may help you to bring the database in consistent state and to fix the error. But sometimes, users experience serious data loss situations after running these inbuilt command line tools. It is highly recommended to make a database before running these tools so that you can run another tool to repair the database.

If you have valid backup, try to restore from it. In case of unavailability the backup and failure of inbuilt tools, use an advance Exchange database recovery software. These tools come with powerful scanning technology to fix the error and rebuild the database.
