This one is kind of an odd request.

Due to various "initiatives", a higher-up here would like to forward all emails coming into and going out of this building, but only for certain client domains.

For instance, lets say that user1@domainA.com sends to or recieves an email from anyone at "domainB.com" (i.e. xxxx@domainB.com). We would like to have the email do what it normally does (get sent to the place it would normally go), but on top of that, ALSO have a copy of the email forwarded to the boss at user2@domainA.com.

However, if user1@domainA.com recieved an email from or sent an email to anyone at "domainC.com" (i.e. xxxx@domainC.com), the email would do as it normally does, with no forwarding at all.

Is this even possible?

simple answer is yes its called server side archiving, legal firms and the like would use such 3rd party addons to do this style of archiving.

so dont think of it as forwarding think of it as archiving.

waterford technologies i remember do such a product addon

if i remember right the email is actually put in to a MS sql databases and when "the auditor" wants to retrieve it its "recalled" into the screen
