Forwarding & rewriting of address - 9.Jun.2000 7:38:00 AM

We are using custom recipients to forward mail on to internet accounts. This used to work fine but for some reason Exchange has started rewriting the domain part of the email address of the originator to our domain name. This only seems to happen for new forwards, existing forwards are not affected. Something must have changed to make it start doing this but I cant work out what it is. Any ideas?
