I have a mail address that sends automatic mail alerts to our support Mailbox. These are now swamping our individual mailboxes as we are all members of the support group. I want to divert ALL mail from this specific incoming address to a single new mailbox which we can then access when we need to. Is this possible in Exchange 2003. I don't believe this system has had any SP's as I cant see them in add/remove. Also I want to know is it possible to automatically remove mail from this mailbox after a specified time. I.E 7 days..

You need to determine what is generating the alerts and change the destination address. I know that sounds simplistic, but the source could be any number of things - many of which have nothing to do with Exchange or Outlook. Removing mail depends upon what you want to do with it. Archival software can do that. You can set up a Mailbox Management policy, but that get's a bit tricky as you have to configure a Recipient Policy specifically for it. You can use ExMerge periodically. You can use AutoArchive in Outlook.

We set up the alerts to mail our Support@XXXXXX.com but these then redirect into the members mail boxes as they are all members of that group. Is it possible to create a rule that redirects all from the sending Domain to a seperate mailbox. From within this I want to create a rule with Outlook to search for specific words such as "Critical" or "Alert" to redirect to the support group, this would weed out the urgent from the informational mails. Or would this be better to create a separate mailbox, point the alerts to this and create the rules from outlook that way? can mail archiving be set to delete mail?

I wish to delete all mail in this new mailbox to be deleted after 7 days automatically. Which would be the best and simplest method. Bear in mind I am inexperienced in mail administration.

If you have an archival software system in place, that would be the way to go. I wouldn't recommend getting one just for this single purpose. If not, there isn't any perfect solution that I'd recommend to you (mainly because of your experience level). I wouldn't recommend Mailbox Management because if you get that wrong you'll delete messages from other mailboxes. ExMerge can work, but there's a lot of programming/scripting you'd have to do to automate it. AutoArchive will remove the messages, but the resulting PST file will grow continuously.
