Exchange 2003 sp2
I have attempted to created Full-Tex Indexing on one of the stores.
Pointed to the location F:\Exchsrvr\ExchangeServer_Servername\Projects
Folder shows the index has been created as priv54ED6B1E

But the issue is that ESM does not see it.
Index State - There is no full text index for this store. If I'll try to re-create it by right click on the mail store and create full index i get an error "A catalog with the name you specified already exist. choose another name to create a new catalog"

Have tried different locations and same error message. tried to stop service and rename the catalog to _OLD. the new one is being created automatically as soon as I start the service.
Tried dismount and mount back. Server rebooted. Still shows nothing in the indexing...

Help

Steps to clean up the full text indexing are as below:

1. Stop the Microsoft Search service from computer management.
2. Open Regedit and navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Search and right click search then select export registry key (we’ll do this for backup purposes)
3. Expand the Search key and delete the following keys.
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Search\Install
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\Applications\ExchangeServer_instance
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\CagalogNames\ExchangeServer_instance
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\Databases\ExchangeServer_instance
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\Gather\ExchangeServer_instance
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\GatheringManager\Applications\ExchangeServer_instance
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Search\1.0\Indexer\ExchangeServer_instance
4. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to where you have Exchange installed and look for a folder that looks something like \ExchangeServer_Servername and rename it.

Hope this helps.

If you want to be store specific - search for keys such as "priv54ED6B1E" under those registry keys mentioned.

DO NOT delete any other key where you do not find such key mentioned.

Reason why i gave such list of keys was since i thought you want to get rid of things at server level and not store level - however it is the latter which you want.

priv54ED6B1E - is identity of store level and can vary as per store instance - you would find the name under the store (in ESM) - full text indexing.
