Hello all,

Just spent the last 4 hours working on clearing a spam queue of 80000 emails.  Client has GFI Mail Essentials version 9 (Yes I know its old).  Everything was working great until about 3 weeks ago, now they have had a 75% increase in spam and it was getting through.

So I did a few things, updated exchange to SP2 since they didnt have it, updated the Scan DLL file for GFI, rebuilt the queue, by renaming the old and creating a new one, and made some configuration changes to GFI, then I took the 80000 emails and started to introduce them back into the new queue.. ok that seemed to work, the queue started to work, down to zero and works fine.

My question is this, are people having issues with GFI, I Read that many people are having the same problems and that their are rumors that some GFI code might be hacked.  I am recommending updating the SPAM filter the client has, do people have suggestions on some good filters.  I could go to the latest version of GFI but want to know what else is out there.  This isnt a big company, perhaps a 1000 or 2000 mails a day.

Thanks

I haven't had any problems with GFI ME v 12 - it successfully removes 85-90% of my clients SPAM email, and would be even more successful if we didn't have to leave the rules a little 'loose'.
