We are having a number of difficulties after installing the latest round of security Windows Updates (Feb 2007). After installed and subsequently uninstalling the Windows Updates after it affected mail flow we are now experiencing a problem when trying to view emails in OWA. When you log into OWA you are presented with the folder list, e-mail summary but the preview pane will not work. When you open an email the same error is shown. HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error Public folders, calendars, tasks, etc all work through OWA, it's just the email body that will not display. OWA is not configured with SSL and the mailboxes are hosted on the same Exchange server. Very basic configuration. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I strongly believe that some kind of antivirus scanning is causing this issue. Check for the AntiVirus registry hive here... and disable the same. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS then, recycle the iis.

Hi, Uninstalling iis 6 , reboot the server, reinstalled the iis 6 and trouble with Error 500 continued. after i put a exchange setup CD and run a command setup /disasterrecovery, replace all files duration a installation, after terminator i goes manually remove the Intelligent filter message and put a service pack 2. Incredibility, a error continued there. I think, i will go format the server and put Exchange 2007. Tanks.

Maybe this will help you: 1) Expand your "Web Sites" 2) Right click on "Exchweb" => "Properties" and select the "Directory Security Tab". Click on "Edit" under "Access control and authentication control" (Should be the first box) 3) Make sure ONLY anonymous access is selected. 4) Expand "Exchweb" virtual directory. 5) Right Click on the "bin" => "Properties" and select "Directory Security" tab. Click on "Edit" under "Access control and authentication control" (Should be the first box) 6) Make sure ONLY anonymous access is selected. It must be on both servers.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS then, recycle the iis. True ! I have encountered this case recently with F-secure Antivirus for exchange 2000 (on Windows 2000 SP4) . Yes, when F-Secure services are disabled or F-secure is corrupted, you may have some problems, as : - Blue Screen : 0x00000051 (Registry Error) or 0x00000050 (Page File error) - IIS MetaBase corrupted - OWA, users can view the listing of e-mail but can't read... HTTP /1.1 500 Internal Error appear... I have changed the registry : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan (See link bellow) [img=http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/3792/fsexchrv4.th.jpg] Problem was fixed in my case Suayib
