Hello. I'm hoping that someone will know this straight off ... How many IMS (inbound) servers in Exchange 5.5 SP4 are you allowed for a single Org/Site? The reason for this is simple. We have more than trippled our Inbound and Outbound Email trafic in the last 18 months. Exchange 5.5 (being the old dog that it is) is managing to keep up with things until somebody decides to send a global Mail from one of the other busnesses to our Office (we cant stop them doing it - AKA management!). This results in the Exchange 5.5 Bridghead IMS not receiving from the Mailsweeper boxes (of which there are 2) and Outbound mails get stuck in the queue for about 10-20 mins (The Bridgehead doesnt handle any Mailboxes) and Inbound mails get held in the Mailsweeper until we de-activate the other Mailsweeper (we've looked at the MSpr boxes and all seem fine). The first solution I'm going to impliment is to increase the threads used by IMS on the bridghead by running Optimiser in Verbose mode. However, as the gods above are breathing down my neck, what are the implications of adding anouther bridghead server running IMS, one of the servers running Outbound and one just running Inbound? Second question is, will I be able to setup a second IMS running Inbound Only and the original IMS running, as is, Inbound & Outbound (efectivly having two inbound IMS's)? Any more light on this would be greatly apreciated! Thanks in advance, Mike
