Hi guys,

Microsoft's recommendation is to limit each folder in Outlook with less than 5000 items; otherwise, people will experience slowness in Outlook, such as "outlook is trying retrieve data from the exchange server" message.  Do you guys enforce this to the users? How?

You cannot enforce this. You can tell the users and then you can use the "I told you so" line later. That's about it.

I've also used the same method as Mark .  However I've found a more politically popular method is to have a FAQ posted on your corporate Intranet which includes this item.
