All users have been migrated from our legacy server, and public folder has been removed.

Referring to the E2k3 article: http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/removing-last-exchange-2003-server-exchange-2007-part3.html

....Under "Remove Mailbox and Public Folder Databases” Section, the Information Store message reads:
Deleting this mailbox store may result in loss of system messages used by Exchange, such as Free / Busy or Key Management Security. If you choose to continue, you need to restart the system attendant service after the store is deleted”

The article goes on to say: “Assuming you are comfortable with the fact you have previously migrated the system folders across, proceed with the mailbox store removal.”

The only remaining mailbox in the default mailbox store is ‘Microsoft System Attendant’.

(NB this is NOT the last remaining legacy Exchange 2000 server in our organisation.)

What is the article referring to as 'system folders'?
Assuming this ‘Microsoft System Attendant’ is the only ‘mailbox’ remaining on the server in this store, public folders store is removed, and all the local site Outlook 2007 clients point to the new E2k7 server, I need to know whether I am safe to proceed with its deletion?

Many thanks.

Hi,

As far as I know you can safely delete it, Exchange will create a new one automaticly if needed. See the following article on technet:

Thanks so much for your reply and help.
I've checked the OAB server and I should be in the clear to go ahead.
Cheers..
