Probably you just haven't given the server(s) time to replicate the necessary information to and from the AD. Just wait a moment and then check again. Make sure that you use the "Active Directory Users and Computers" snap-in on the Exchange server and check the information on the "E-mail Addresses" tab.

Most likely the Recipient pdate Service is changing the e-mail address back as per policy.
Try un-checking the Automatically update ... checkbox and then changing the address.

looking at this it reminds me that I till daet could not manage to have two diff domains on my exchange enterprise server.
Scenario:

1) abc.com
2) 123.com

abc.com was configured while AD was installed and is default and all works ok, later my company had bought another domain name and wanted me to configure it with the existing server but keep it seprate for different dial in users on the same exchange seerver i.e not to have two email ids for each user so the only answer was to it was key word [ Recepient policy ] !
If all agree to me right !
and that was supposed to be mapped on to a OU called 123 with description = [ RAS ] it never worked when i created a new user in active directory and it use to only pickup default doamin name called abc.com it never picked up 123.com as it was set and configured in teh secodn receipnt policy that is = if ou = 123 & description is ras than email id is supposed ot be test@123.com it never worked can anyoen tell me is there a work around or tweak to this psl advice [Roll Eyes]
