I have successfully installed a new Exchange 2003. Currently I am using Exchange 5.5. Problem is my company is changing the email format from firstname@mycompany.com to firstname.lastname@mycompany.com. How can I notify senders about my change of email address from the server end rather than from my outlook client?

Another thing is that I want to implement this across the whole company. Sender should see each inidividual changed email address rather. Thanks

Hi,

Best way is to add the new SMTP address and make this new address the primary address. All new mails your users send will have the new address as reply address and the users will still be able to receive emails for the old SMTP address.

Hi,

I believe that this is the recommended way of doing it. If it was only one person you could create an Outlook rule that fires when recieving emails for the old address but this is not doable when we are talking a bigger number of users.
