Hi,

The 'money men' at within the company have just purchased a service desk application that needs to connect to an IMAP e-mail account in order to work.  At present we use a mixed Exchange 2003/2000 environment (2 x Exch 2003 & 1 x Exch 2000) using only SMTP.

The application will pick up e-mails from the internal IMAP e-mail account (B) which will have e-mails forwarded onto it from an existing internal SMTP account (A).  When sending e-mails, the application will need to send on behalf of the SMTP account (A).

What (if any) security considerations need to be taken before enabling the IMAP virtual server?
