I receive the following message within 30 seconds of sending an email to one individual outside of our domain. I have no problems sending emails to any other person outside of our domain. This person is not in the GAL or personal contacts list.

I have no idea as to why this is happening. I can send this person an email from all other sites without a problem. The email address is valid.

just wondering when u said u can send this message from other sites (meaning excahnge sits w/in your org) if not, maybe you are on a blackhole list that the external party is using. I know our comapany has been on a few and i have had to contact them to remove.

I think I might be getting somewhere. I seem to be having issues my reverse dns.

Note that all Internet accessible hosts are expected to have a reverse DNS entry (per RFC1912 2.1), and many mailservers (such as AOL) will likely block E-mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry.

Try this site to check if you have reverse DNS
http://www.dnsstuff.com/

Not sure if your problem was with AOL. I am working with Qwest who is my ISP now to see if this is possibly the problem.

My problem is fixed. I contacted Qwest my ISP provider and had them set us up a reverser dns. Still had problems so I contacted AOL they had me send a test email and the IP address was not correct so I had Qwest set a reverse DNS for the IP address that AOL had for us and know everything works fine. Even the one email I couldn't send that was not an AOL address. Hope this helps.

I hope to have a reverse dns setup by tomorrow. However, everything now points to this as being the problem.

I will reply once I have had a chance to get the change in place an test it.

Thanks
