Rather than migrate our server from SBS 2008 to SBS 2011, we decided to just do a clean installation. We exported our Outlook data into PST's from the old server, and then reimported it.

I imported my PST by using New-MailboxImportRequest on the server. Now, on my iPhone, old emails I sent to my co-workers are showing up as FYDIBOHF23SPDLT. When I tap on that, they're showing up as their name, followed by what appears to be the old X.500 name.

My Mac is also showing a similar issue. My PC isn't at the new office yet, so I don't know how Outlook is seeing this. OWA looks fine, though, but clicking on the username shows an error about how the Active Directory object can't be found.

Do I just have to add the old X.500 addresses into the new users as a custom address?

Would that solve the issue in Apple Mail? That seems to reference my local contacts, not the GAL.

Yes you will need to add the old X500 addresses as custom addresses to user mailboxes. If you don't do this this may also cause delivery failures.
