We are having a problem receiving e-mail from only 1 of our customers. All other inbound works fine. We can send out to this customer no problem. When they reply to our inbound message, it never goes through and gets returned back to them "Delivery failed 20 attempts" They only have this problem trying to send to us. We have Exch 5.5 they have Imail server. Both domains resolve. When I turn on logging, I see a connection established then nothing else??????

I saw something maybe similar. They had an E2k box internal that would forward to a Sendmail Server, which would then send out. The Sendmail or maybe Imail server would not send/recieve until an fqdn was changed. They had to make the Sendmail see the internal E2k box as its fqdn. Not @domain.net but @e2kbox.domain.net.

Also, if they aren't using w2k DNS, that can cause problems.

Fixed! The DNS server on problem side could not resolve our domain. The DNS server set inside the imail server SMTP config tab was different than the DNS server set in TCPIP properties.
