We are currently 'attempting' an install of Exchange 2003 on a brand new box. This is a FRESH install and this will be the only thing running on the machine other than a simple intranet CMS later on.
So far I have set up an exchange admin account and it has FULL rights on the domain. The box is joined to the domain and logs on accordingly.
However, I cannot for the life of me get a forest prep to run. The error is the standard 'you do not have permission to update the AD Schema or the server is too busy.' roughly quoted, but I am sure most of you are familiar with it.
So that is where I stand with this. I was curious if I might need to reboot the PDC to trigger a reset on the account that I am using to install the exchange server or if my log files might give some insight into the problem.
I have already added the registry entry that allows the schema to be updated...or verified that it is set to '1'.
Further inclusion...this is the entry in the log file that is repeated about 8-10 times when I try to do a forest prep.

Hiya chap, can you delete the existing Exchange installation log file, then try again.
When setup fails can you post the entire log.

lol...I just realized that was 23 pages long...SOOO sorry...
Anyway...I should point out possibly that we are running Server 2000 on the PDC. The Exchange is going on Server 2003 box. If that matters at all...

Yeah...one DC (Win 2000) and we have between 150-200 people on it throughout the day. I was planning a reboot after hours tonight. I can't reboot during the day...unless you want me to forward my phone to YOUR number...hehe...
I was curious if a reboot might fix the issue due to a possible access problem with the creation of the new account in the AD. Wouldn't matter for a regular user, but since this is a pretty high level user that I created it might actually trigger something...
