Hi,

Do to budget constraints and compatability, iIve deciced to go ahead and Install Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2003 Server Ent R2 x64 rather than use Windows 2008 Server.

This will be installed on a DC\DNS\DHCP Server. I know, not best practice or recommended, but it can work.

What is needed to be done and installed prior to installing Exchange 2007 apart from Windows, AD, dns.

TIA

hi mate,

I would suggest you to give much more details.
Whenever we are installing Exchange you need to make a proper plan so that for next 3-5 years you don't have to go anywhere.
Considering the fact about the mailbox management, transport server role and number of users calculations.

Once you make the proper plan,

Then you need to go with the installation part
To calculate required storage, I highly recommend you to use the Exchange 2007 Storage Calculator (http://msexchangeteam.com/files/12/attachments/entry438481.aspx ).

Also be sure to check out the Planning Storage Configuration section in the E2K7 documentation on TechNet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124518(EXCHG.80).aspx
