Hello there,

This is my first post to this forum.

I am planning to move an exchange 2003 box, not setup and administred by me, which has never been patched OS win2003 server no service pack and exchange 2003 SP1.

In order to migrate to exch2007 I need to be at least exchange 2003 SP2. Can I put exchange 2003 SP2 without upgrading my win2003 server operating system to SP1 or SP2. I dont want to change too much this old server , just want to upgrade it to minimum requirements for a transition to E2K7.

I have seen post about exchange service pack erasing OWA settings ? . Can someone please confirm , is it usually a smooth operation or ... . Any feedback about service pack deployment is welcome.

Best practice to apply Service Pack ? , system state and full exchange back up I assume. How to dump OWA config ? . Stopping exchange store and related service before applying SP ?.
