I was able to get the IPAD to connect to the server and add the account with the users name/password without problems but I try and look at the inbox and I get the error that the connection to server failed.

I have made additional testing. I put on my exchange wireshark to listen to packets. When I go to the Inbox on the Ipad, there is no packet sent to the exchange server. I really don't know how it works. I have noticed that some people on this forum has the same problem.

I've been on this issue since the past few years. In the meantime, my users use Outlook Anywhere but it is not convenient.

Thanks for help.

Finally, I have found something in the technet forum.

When the Ipad tries to establish a communication with exchange, a problem occur related with Active Directory and Exchange Active Sync itself. Before making a communication attempt, a modification has to be made to the user properties of the mailbox that has to be reached.

On the server console, go to Active Directory.
Select option Advanced functionalities in View folder.
Click right on the user.
Select the security tab.
Select advanced at the bottom.
Check include inherited authorization.....
Save.

Try to make a connection with your ipad and it should be fine.

Remenber that there is a process that runs frequently that will uncheck this. Everytime that a new mailbox has to be reached by a Ipad, this has to be done for the correspondant user.
