I am upgrading from a single server exchange 2003 environment. We already have a wildcard cert used for the existing OWA for mail.mydomain.com. Activesync also uses the domain of mail.mydomain.org.

Additionally we use Mobile Iron to manage our mobile devices. The "Sentry" server connects into Active Sync so we can manage our cell phones and tablets. The sentry points to mail.mydomain.org.

The entire migration project is going to take a few months (we have to update outlook, push the new client, etc across 800+ users, many of which are full time remote so we have to schedule office visit time)

So I am at the point of creating a legacy dns for the old 2003 server. I have created email.mydomain.org, updated dns internal and external and made the changes on the router so it routes from the public IP to the internal IP.

My question is - what happens with Active Sync when I assign the "mail.mydomain.org" to my 2010 server?

Also, when I go to email.mydomain.org it does not resolve properly, but if I go to https://email.mydomain.org/exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp? it does.

I have not installed 2010 yet, as I know part of the process will be to setup the external domain and I want to make sure I won't break activesync, mobile iron and owa all at the same time.
