In the Exchange management shell enter Set-OWAVirtualDirectory <CAS2010>\OWA* -Exchange2003URL https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange

Get the following message: WARNING: the command completed sucessfully
but not setting of 'CAS2010\owa (Default Web Site)' have been modified. So been unable to connect to exchange 2003 owa.

Any suggestion to resolve this issue?

Are you able to type https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange directly into the browser and authenticate?

How many Exchange 2003 servers do you have? Any front-end servers? What are the authentication methods set on the /Exchange virtual directory on exchange 2003 server(s)?

FYI - I am able to type https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange directly into the browser and authenticate now. However, last night when I change my DNS record for exchange.contoso.com from exchange 2003 ip address to exchange 2010 ip address. When I type https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange browser goes to https://legacy.contoso.com/owa

Thinking could be an issue with Exchange 2010. Because when enter Set-OWAVirtualDirectory <CAS2010>\OWA* -Exchange2003URL https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange in the management shell

Get the following message: WARNING: the command completed sucessfully but not setting of 'CAS2010\owa (Default Web Site)' have been modified. So been unable to connect to exchange 2003 owa

Do you have forms based authentication enabled on the Exchange 2003 server for OWA?

Go ahead and enable forms based authentication on Exchange 2003. You will need to run IISRESET from a command prompt after that and users connecting from OWA will get disconnected during the restart of IIS (should take 30 seconds).

When I enable forms based authentication on Exchange 2003. My mobile phones and IPADS were unable to connect to server.

So I uncheck the enable forms bases authentication. Any suggests why IPADS were unable to connect to server?

After changing the DNS exchange to IP address of  exchange 2010 server, tried connecting to OWA.

Enter https://exchange.contoso.com/exchange ask for username and password

Then connecting to legacy.contoso.com enter username and password.

Browser changes to https://legacy.pltnm.com/owa

A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account. Please close all Internet Explorer windows and try again in a few minutes. If the problems continues, contact your helpdesk.

Also the Ipads and smartphone email not working enter password.

Do you have any suggestion to troubleshoot?

Have you cleared the tcp/ip cache on the local machine (ipconfig/flushdns). At the bottom of this link (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298096.aspx), it mentions about your issue.
