Hi i'm new here.  Ive been reading a good while though.

Ive recently ran into an issue with database corruption.  The cause turned out to be corruption with the filesystem on the array.  This has been fixed, however, the database has been corrupted again.  It cannot be repaired.  My solution was to create a new mailbox store and move all users mailboxes to it, leaving behind the corrupted data.  I have now moved somewhere around 175 users to a new store...and managed to generate 10k 1mb log files.  How can I force the system to take care of those immediately?

Update:  Nevermind.  A little more reading and I would have found that a full backup removes all unnecessary transaction logs eh?  :)

Bryan,

If you are planning to do such a migration was to turn on circular logging before you migrated the boxes, this will reuse the log files and will keep the last 4 if I am correct. After the migration you can switch of circular logging this because log files are needed for recovery.

I had not thought of that.  Ive used it before but it just didn't dawn on me.  Will definately remember that in the future.

Thanks!
