Hi,

We have a working CCR exchange 2007 cluster with two nodes and we created a disaster site with SCR on a another location. The replication is working fine on all nodes, the test-replication health and get-copystoragegroupstatus is reporting no errors and correct the queue length as 50 on the scr.
The backup is working on CCR and logs are purged but on the SCR it still have the logs since the day we created (last week). The trancationlog setting its 2 days as we setup it that way.

Does anyone has any idea on how to solve this as i cannot find anything about it on microsoft or google.

thanks.
Vassilis

Are you running the backup from Active Node or Passive Node?

Thank for the reply
NetBackup is installed on both CCR nodes, and the backup is running from the cluster CCR virutal name as source.

SCR should delete the logs after they are replayed into the database. We do not back up any of our "DR" servers, and you dont WANT your backup software truncating the logs anyway since there is a built-in replay lag time. Something is amiss in your environment if SCR is not truncating them.

I don't have a backup on the DR and i'm not backing up anything there.
There is nothing wrong with the system, it seams that this is a known bug with the SCR were it does not truncate the logs if it settings is greater than 24hours. I did a disable and enable the SCR with the default settings and it worked.

When you mean the transaction log setting is set for 2 days, I assume you mean the flag -TruncationLagTime ? one thing to keep in mind with this flag is that if it set to 2 days it really means 2 days after -ReplayLagTime. So if you have a replay of 1 day the logs really won't be truncated for 3 days. Also here is a handy powershell script to verify the settings

$sg = Get-StorageGroup "MyServer\MyStorageGroupName"
$sg.StandbyMachines

Just replace "MyServer\MyStorageGroupName" with the proper info and it should return your settings.

Hope this helps.
