We are getting lots of MSDTC errors on our SCC cluster (2 node).  What is the correct settings for MSDTC on an exchange 2007 SCC Mailbox cluster.  We keep finding contradicting web pages.

MS website advises for a cluster it should be in its own resource group with its own disk resource.  Although for an old Exchange 2000 cluster you would run comclust and it would be created in the cluster group.

Exchange 2007 does not require MSDTC, can we just disable the service on each node to turn it off and to stop the errors in the event logs.

Any information would be very useful.

Many Thanks,

R.

Exchange 2007 clusters do not use an MSDTC resource.  Unless you have a third-party application installed in the cluster that requires it, you can safely remove the MSDTC from the cluster.

Hope this helps.
