I'm running Exchange 2000/Win2000 Server and have installed Mail-Essentials mainly for POP3 downloading from a virtual pop account.

My problem is... how can I have Exchange or Mail-Essentials reject email for usernames that don't exist on my server? Currently Mail Essentials makes you dump "unknowns" into a mailbox. But I want "unknowns" to go right back to where they came from.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this?

Any help would be highly appreciated...

At the moment it is not a feature included in mail essentials. Perhaps it can be in future releases, sorry

Try OmniQuad Mailwall...it has lots of policies regarding mail handling and should be able to do the job...
