We're running Exchange 2000 SP3. Have just recently begun using Mailbox Manager to notify users when their sent & deleted items are > 14 days, please delete, etc. My question is if I change the Mailbox Manager Settings Properties from "Generate Reports" to "Move to System Cleanup Folders" then (1) where does the System Cleanup folder live? (2) How often does it clean things up? Is that a configurable setting? (3) Is there an article somewhere that explains this whole process in more detail? Thanks for your help! Dawn H.

Hi Dawn,

Take a look at this article's

Managing Mailboxes Using Mailbox Manager

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/guides/E2k3AdminGuide/6ce74e08-eeac-4f60-a111-09c288d1b8b3.mspx

after setting the policy you would find the System cleanup folder in outlook. It will be like a deleted item folder.

SO each user will have this folder and its kept on the server.

You can use the policy to clear the items in the system clean up folder.

Also look at this kb 289122 for information regarding how we determine when to clean messages
