Hello Everyone,

We have a Exchange 2003 Enterprise. Our Information Store is 325 GB.

There are two things I would like to achieve:

1. We had an STM file corruption/failure a while ago. I was able to do a repair and get our information store back online. However, many of the mailboxes have orphaned e-mails that cannot be opened or deleted. After doing the repair, I did not do an offline defrag or ISINTEG on the information store. I would like to clean these e-mails. Would moving mailboxes to a new store get rid of these and only move the good e-mail, essentially doing a clean-up?

2. I recently purged some large mailboxes and I'm hoping the new information store would be smaller. Based on my research, it looks like moving mailboxes to a new information store is a good alternative to an offline defrag?
