I have a server running windows 2000 running exchange 5.5 with SP4. I have users who have been deleted but are still occupying space in private information store. I'm trying to delete the mail messages but don't know how. When I run exchange administrator and select mailbox resources the delete is grayed out. When I select the tools option the mailbox cleaner option is also grayed out. How can I enable these. I need to delete these mail messages before before I run a defrag. I am close to the 16GB Information Store limit. I have the standard edition of Exchange 5.5. I Appreciate
any advice you can give me.

Oz,

Dfig stated he had Exchange5.5 not Exchange2000 so he would not have ESM so your suggestion would not work in his environment.
