Hello, I am working for a company with an already configured SBS2003 machine. I created a user in SBS2003 Users and Comp, and also selected to setup an email address for the user. After creating the email address, an issue came up witht he company and they had me delete the user, and i also selected to mark the exchange mailbox for deletion. Later that day they asked me to recreate him, so i did, not knowing his old mailbox still existed(just waiting to be purged), i selected to create another email address for him of the same name. His email worked fine for the first day, since day 2 any emails sent to him receive "Mailbox disabled for this recipient" error. I purged his disabled mailbox from system manager, so it only contained his enabled one, still nothing. i have waited a day for ngiht process to run and still nothing. I also deleted his user account, ran a cleanup on the mailboxes and purged his mailbox, theoretically removing him from the server all together, recreated him brand new, and still receive the "Mailbox disabled for this recipient ". I have done google searches for this, but haven't found anything useful. Any help you could offer to resolving this would be MUCH appreciated.

Also, from the users PC i can email out, and receive email from the users mail address, but any replies to the user get a bounce back that the mailbox is disabled, and they does not receive the message

ok, the user can send and receive within the domain, and the user can send out of the domain, but user cannot receive from outside the domain. Anything i may be missing? or updates i have to force to run?

Maybe search AD and see if the old email address is still in the system? I've had that before where the user was deleted, recreated and funny things happened afterwards. It turned out the person who deleted the email assigned it to another account. Replication was slow and it didn't show up as a problem for a day. There's probably BETTER ways to do it, but I always cheat with this stuff. I just run at the command prompt a simple AD export (LDIFDE -F FILENAME.LDF) and do a search in that text file for the email address. If it's in there twice, (Which it's not SUPPOSED to do but with deletion, replication and RUS it can happen occasionally. Reading the details above the email address (There's a LOT) should tell you the USER or GROUP or whatever that has the address. Hope that helps.

Ok, forget anything pertaining to the deletion and recreating of the username, I have created a second completely different user, who worked fine for the first day, but again the next day even this new user receives the error "Mailbox disabled for this recipient". Again, user can receive and send within domain, as well as send out of domain, but not receive from outside the domain.
