We have an exchange 2007 server which seems to be all working without an issue, but when I log into outlook web access it says my storage limit is near capacity. When I log into an outlook client it states that the mailbox is actually empty. When I log on to the exchange server it states that the mailbox is 95 meg in size, why is this? Is there something that exchange isn't doing once I delete the messages from my inbox. PS I have emptied the deleted items and also sent items. Any help appreciated DJW

Hi, Exchange doesn't delete the deleted items when you delete the mails from there. They will be kept for 14 days by default so that's why it is showing this. See the following KB article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125266(EXCHG.80).aspx

I changed the setting of my account to 0 days and it still shows 100meg. I did change it after I deleted the items and had my setting at 14 days. Would this make an effect?
